What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a cleaning company that services Cottage Country and Rental Properties turnovers, i.e., Airbnb, Vrbo, etc.
Tell us about yourself
I have a background as Personal Support Worker (Senior Care), so I started a business offering support to seniors in their homes so they can stay in them longer.
A family member had Airbnb rentals and asked If I would manage their cleaning turnovers as it became more difficult for her to find good and reliable cleaners. Eventually, after nine years, I sold that portion of the business to an employee to start their own business. I eventually moved to cottage country and started offering Rental Properties Turnovers Cleans Services to Airbnb, VRBO, and Cottage Clients in this area.
I love the feeling and pride it gives me when myself and my team go into a rental or property and make it gleam and sometimes a dramatic change from when we enter and leave—offering vacationers a great rental experience to families and individuals for their vacation.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating a business and it becoming a 5-star and then being able to sell it to another individual starting out like I once did.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Staffing is always difficult as it is an industry where there is staffing turnover; workers do not stay for long in this industry.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Research. Sometimes worth paying someone for advice.
- Protect your business, trademark all marketing and logos(former staff will steal if they have the chance).
- Make yourself unique from all other businesses that are out there.
