What's your business, and who are your customers?
Adina Eden is a Fashion and Fine jewelry brand catered to women of every age all over the world. Our mission is to inspire women to be who they set out exactly to be in this world, and our sole purpose is to see how these young girls or women shine by wearing our jewelry and then rising to their fullest potential. Tell us about yourself
I always had an implicit taste for Fashion and Accessories, and while in my third semester of college, designing & curating jewelry started becoming a hobby of mine. I quickly fell in love with Fashion Jewelry and later ventured out and founded Adina Eden. I was named after my maternal grandmother, and she's been reminded of it her whole life, so I wanted to commemorate my grandmother's memory and show the world who she was. My inspiration came from expressing myself in a way that made me feel like I was on top of the world.
Jewelry made me feel sane and seen! I want every girl who doesn't feel confident in herself to put on my jewelry and make her feel like she can run the world. As part of my personal mission, I collaborated with BCRF to raise awareness for my grandmother's passing which motivates me every day to keep pushing through the hurdles.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business owner, there are many accomplishments that I feel great pride in, but one of my greatest personal accomplishments was being honored in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2022. Being interviewed for Forbes was surreal. I couldn't believe I was listed because I always had to fight to prove my worth, being that I was a young entrepreneur. To me, this gave me the validity and credibility that I wanted from the start. It gave me confidence and hope that one day I'll be more than just a jewelry company but a globally recognized jewelry brand.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
There are many challenges that come with being a business owner, but if I had to pinpoint one, it would be that sometimes no matter how much my team and I plan something, there is always a possibility that things won't go as we exactly anticipated. Being a business owner comes with a lot of uncertainty at times, and more often than not, there are many things that we cannot control but need to quickly learn how to adapt to so that we can continue to provide the absolute best for our customers.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Passion, you must be passionate about what it is you're setting out to do.
- Trust, you must trust the right people around you to help you in the beginning and then to continue to help you as the business grows.
- Commitment, you must be committed when starting, growing, and running your own business because many obstacles and failures will come your way, but if you are truly committed, nothing will be able to stop you.
