What's your business, and who are your customers?
Hi! Our business caters to people that LOVE unique gifting. We are most famous for our song lyrics on canvas and have many customers buy it for anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, or just because.
Tell us about yourself
We started out as a small print shop and really had no clue and no prior knowledge of running a business. Things took off really fast when we moved onto Shopify! We are motivated by our customers and also our mission to make the world a better place with World Vision by helping families and children in need.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I would say helping so many children and giving jobs to people who wouldn't have any and, of course, being able to pay bills, take care of my own family, and bless others.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Balance. It's hard to balance family and growing and pushing constantly. You can't get comfortable with owning a business. You have to be constantly thinking of how you can grow.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't give up. Keep pushing even if you are losing profit at first because most businesses lose money at first, and that's okay, just keep pushing through.
- Be prepared to be dedicated at first. You may not have the free time you are used to, but the payoff will be worth it.
- Don't copy other shops - try and be your own brand and bring something to the table that isn't really there. The more unique it is, the better. So many new companies are just copycats, and they struggle to find success.
