What's your business, and who are your customers?
I love to help people, businesses, and organizations succeed financially and socially by applying wisdom and knowledge to their financial plans and investment management.
Tell us about yourself
I was blessed with my first client in 1981 when inflation was 14%, and I am still taking care of his widow today. That is my career and in one sentence.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Helping people. Yes, I have received awards, including as a 5-star mutual fund manager and award-winning author, and in athletics, but it comes down to helping people and fulfilling my purposes in life.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Managing priorities, time, and people. I guess that's 3, but they are interconnected.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Assuming you have a great idea, seek good advisers/coaches (Without counsel plans fail, but... - Proverbs 15:22)
- Plan your work and work your plan. Be diligent. Proverbs 10:4, 21:5, and others. It isn't easy.
- Surround yourself with good, talented people, pace yourself, have fun, and repeat #s 1 and 2.
