What's your business, and who are your customers?

I AM YOGA Wellness Studio, and I am the author of YOGA - A Journey Into a Healthy Spine. My customers are anyone interested in health and wellness.

Tell us about yourself

Since high school, I have loved business. I loved yoga and wanted to share it with my community. The joy of helping change lives and make a difference.

Anna has been an educator for 23 years. A business instructor both at the high school and college levels. Currently employed at Napa County Office of Education and Napa College. Anna's entrepreneurial passion led her to co-founding I AM YOGA Wellness Studio in 2008 in Turlock, CA. Anna is the sole owner of I AM YOGA Wellness Studio and a Certified Yoga Therapist. Her studio's mission is to create accessible yoga and fitness classes for everybody. She is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and is a published author. Anna continues to fuel her passion for business; in 2021, Anna followed her mother's footsteps Blandina Wilson, beginning her Real Estate career. Anna is an active member in her hometown, contributing to charitable activities. She is also a member of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being on the other side of the pandemic, continuing to serve our community through I AM YOGA Wellness Studio. Also, publishing my book. YOGA -A Journey Into a Healthy Spine.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Saying "No" as a new business owner, you want to do it all.... but it is better to pace yourself.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Create a business plan -this gives you the ability to put your dreams on paper.
  2. Make sure you get your financing in order.
  3. Grow strong connections with like-minded people.
