Ascend Personal Limits - APL Wellness

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ashley P. Lambert, founder and CEO of APL Wellness, located in Fontana, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is called APL Wellness, which stands for Ascend Personal Limits. I help women build muscle so they can look and feel strong without following a restrictive diet or working out more than three hours a week. Many of my clients come to me after following restrictive diets and working out for many hours in the gym without creating the physique they desire.

Tell us about yourself

I have always been active. I started dancing and studying Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, and Hip Hop at three years old. I danced professionally into my twenties. One of my best friends asked me to do a fitness competition with her over ten years ago, and that sparked my passion for health and wellness. I got into the best shape of my life physically and mentally, so I wanted to help other women do the same.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is helping women push past their self-imposed limitations and step into their power physically, mentally, and emotionally. Success in the gym is always translated into other areas of their life, and it is beautiful to witness.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that came up for me this year was pushing past the fear of failure and going for the business I wanted. I think it can be scary to constantly put yourself out into the world but trusting I'm where exactly God wants me has been helpful.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The top three tips I would tell someone about business are:

  1. There is no such thing as failure, just lessons.
  2. Always continue growing, learning, and evolving because there is no such thing as standing still. You are either getting better or worse. There is no such thing as staying stagnant.
  3. Trust that you are where you are supposed to be. Comparison is the thief of joy. Celebrate every win!
