What's your business, and who are your customers?

AWAKE guides you to discover your true self through powerful connections and mindful moments in safe, nurturing, and loving environments. Not everyone's journey is the same, so you can choose your paths, such as one-on-one sessions, monthly deep dives, and an annual weekend-long AWAKE festival. The goal is always the same, find joy in life!

Tell us about yourself

I am the Founder of AWAKE Mindful Living. I offer individual and couples psychotherapy sessions. I have more than 20 years of mindful living practice. I graduated from Naropa University's unique and highly sought-after Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling Program. I am dedicated to meeting you where you are along the path of wellness to offer you guidance and support to create a more peaceful and health-filled life.

My passion for Buddhist Studies, meditation, yoga, and a healthy lifestyle helped me to re-discover my own peaceful nature each day and fuels my ability to share counseling and meditation practices with others. The driving force behind my life is to show others they are pure potential, not the self-limiting thoughts that our minds often generate.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The creation of AWAKE Festival - a weekend-long wellness gathering to restore, rejuvenate, and reconnect! AWAKE offers 50+ yoga/wellness talks + workshops, live music, conscious dance, a thriving vendor village, and kids camp, all with camping available on-site. Centered in the cozy mountain town of Evergreen, CO, AWAKE shines a light on yoga, holistic health providers, organic food, nature, and so much more.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Hitting huge growth spurts without the knowledge or capital to bring the right people/tools on board to grow to the next level.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Interview others doing something similar.
  2. Fail early - meaning put your product/service out there for a cost asap and see what works and what doesn't.
  3. Build systems early - read the E-Myth Revisited book!
