Tell us about yourself

I started my business (Morning Munchies) in May of 2016 after being fired from my Job as a Customer Service/Sales Rep at Chukka Caribbean Adventures. I was unclear about what exactly I wanted to do, but one thing was clear I needed a new stream of income to support my children. Morning Munchies proved to be slow and was not producing sufficient funds to meet my needs, so I transitioned into a community grocery shop. In 2017 a Zone of Special Operation (ZOSO) was imposed in my community, which affected business sales, and I was forced to create another way to earn. I started cooking lunch for some friends, which quickly gained the attention of fans. With time, Bamboo Fever Restaurant became my passion & was registered in 2019. I continue to find creative ways to persevere despite the challenges.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to start and maintain not only a business but a brand from scratch that provides for my children & their future.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Having to constantly find the will to persevere.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just Start (whether big or small), trust God & Put Him First.
  2. Educate yourselves as much as possible about your field of business & ensure that it's something you love.
  3. Do thorough research.
