What's your business, and who are your customers?
Beauty by Earth is a clean, better-for-you personal care brand. Our customers are educated women who pay attention to the ingredients in their skin and personal care products. Our customer loves to live healthy, active lifestyle.
Tell us about yourself
I have always been into health and wellness. Started reading wellness books in my teenage years, and it's just always been a passion of mine. I'm a mom of 2 strong, healthy boys and a wife to an amazingly supportive (and handsome) husband. What motivated me at the start and continues to motivate me is knowing that I am developing truly clean products that are not only clean but effective.
Do you have daily rituals for work / wellness / fitness / mindfulness?
Each morning, I get up and head straight to the gym for a workout, where I also get 40oz of water. Come home, pack the kid's lunches, and get them off to school. I also try to take a daily walk after lunch to not only boost my metabolism but also have some thinking time before I hit work again.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Sustaining 9 years in a world of crazy unknowns! That is a feat in and of itself.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Being responsible for the livelihood of others. Our team as we have grown and ensured they are fulfilled and living well. Honestly, there are lots of hard things, but you have to roll with the punches.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be ready to fail and when you do, fail fast and learn from the failures.
- Surround yourself with other business owners who inspire you and help you. There are tons of great organizations and masterminds out there. It takes a village.
- Hire only A players. Get the best.
