Tell us about yourself

My name is Chelsey Moss, and I am a Yoga teacher with over 10,000 hours of teaching experience. I first discovered yoga while in cancer treatment. It didn't take long for me to realize that yoga was the missing piece in my healing journey. I may need it, my body needed it, and my heart needed it.

One class twice a week quickly became a daily practice. I wanted to learn more and go deeper into the ancient wisdom and science of yoga. I took my first intensive teacher training in Hood River, Oregon, in 2012. Then again, at Shri Kali Ashram on the island of Koh Phangan, Thailand. Prior to opening Big Buddha Yoga studio, I had the privilege of teaching and managing many local studios in our region.

Covid was ultimately the catalyst for which Big Buddha was founded. With many of the local studios shut, I believed that once we as a community moved past covid, there would be a need to be a space to heal, rebuild, and navigate our "new normal" lives.

We have successfully built a community within the walls of our studio in the hearts of our clients. A healthy community is a thriving community. It is our passion to support wellness within our diverse communities.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building and maintaining a healthy community atmosphere where people come and feel welcomed, heard, and cared for.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Covid-19, pandemic is one of the hardest things that we encounter.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Do it! It takes time and effort to start something new, and at times it can feel like you're riding a wave - there are hurdles to stride, and you won't always get it right the first time, but be patient and trust in your vision.

The rewards of seeing/experiencing your creation come to fruition and change lives are incredibly rewarding.
