What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our business is Bioptimizers, and our customers are anyone who has health challenges or is interested in going from sick to superhuman with their health.

Tell us about yourself

What got me started was my father getting me a weight set when I was 12 years old. Also, when I saw my grandfather’s health decline rapidly because he got hit by a car and broke his hip. He moved in with us and prayed for death in the last years of his life. Finally, when I helped my best friend lose 191 pounds in 18 months. All of those events got me on the path of doing this as a career. What motivates me is the desire to eliminate unnecessary physical suffering and bring superhumans to the world. We have the opportunity to transform what people see as healthy. I think we have the opportunity to push longevity and mental performance to a new dimension. It is going to take us many years and decades to get there, but I love the journey, and that is what drives me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Hitting Inc5000 without raising any capital. Hitting the level of growth that we have achieved is impressive, and I think when you get there without raising any capital is even more impressive.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Firing people - releasing people is always challenging. Sometimes you release them because they are not fit; other times, you do it because they are not performing; and other times, you release them because they cannot make the jump to the next level even though they are good people and even good workers. That is the hardest part.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Pick a niche you are deeply interested in. Niche, deeper meaning, you need to try to focus on one segment that has been ignored by the competition. Build the best product or service to serve that segment.
