What's your business, and who are your customers?

We sell roasted/ground coffee beans, primarily in our neighborhood but also through our website, where we have subscribers nationwide.

Tell us about yourself

I started this business during the lockdown of COVID, with twin babies at home, I couldn't wait to see what would happen, and it felt like the perfect opportunity to finally pursue my dream of having my own coffee business. After ten years of traveling the globe, I wanted to pursue a coffee business that would prioritize the families who produce coffee, much like my own small family.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I wouldn't say that the "big" things are something you accomplish. To me, the big things are the ones you have to dedicate to yourself every day. Integrity, putting employees and customers first. Things like that, which you never get to cross off a list.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Prioritizing and accepting that there is always work to do.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get started - there will always be work/perfecting to do; the sooner you get started, the faster you'll learn what is working and what isn't.
  2. Create your own opportunity - you can't wait for business to come to you.
  3. Stay focused on priorities/goals - define your own success, and focus on that.
