What's your business, and who are your customers?
Bold Ink is a marketing agency of freelancers which also offers Fractional CMO support for small and medium-sized businesses.
Tell us about yourself
I started my business after being let go from a corporate job that I hated. I vowed to only work with great people from there on out, and I can honestly say that our clients are incredible. I'm excited to do the work to better their brands and to help them grow.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
It took a while for us to find a business model that worked and allowed me to focus on the marketing strategy while also fulfilling clients' needs across a suite of specialized marketing services. I've been able to pair some amazing freelancers with businesses that they're passionate about, and they get to focus on the work instead of client management.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The ups and downs, without a doubt. There have been times when I wasn't sure I could make my mortgage payment, and it's tough to keep going in the face of that. BUT perseverance has paid off. We've found our groove and are lucky to do the work that we do.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Resilience, don't sweat the small stuff. Relationships are everything.
