Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brad Kearns, Owner of Bradventures LLC., located in Stateline, NV, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Bradventures LLC offers books, nutrition products, online multimedia courses, and the B.rad podcast. I connect with health and fitness enthusiasts striving for peak performance and aging gracefully.

Tell us about yourself

I'm a lifelong athlete and raced on the professional triathlon circuit for nine years, was USA national champion, and ranked #3 in the world. As an athlete, I learned the importance of healthy, balanced lifestyle practices and continue to strive for peak performance today as a masters track and field athlete and professional speed golfer. I promote pursuing peak performance with passion throughout life.

Do you have daily rituals for work / wellness / fitness / mindfulness?

My most important daily ritual is my "hour of power" first thing in the morning. The start of my day, every single day, is dedicated to exercise for at least an hour, sometimes two. I did the exact same sequence of exercises every day for six years, but now my routine is varied to be more specific to my goals as a master sprinter. I think the most important aspects are commitment and consistency. Knowing that I always start my day with exercise, choosing from an assortment of typical sessions, has turned this into an automatic behavior-a habit. This sets me up for a day of more focus and discipline overall.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm co-author with Mark Sisson of many popular books. Our 2017 book, The Keto Reset Diet, reached the NY Times bestseller list and was ranked #1 overall bestselling book on Amazon briefly.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Time management, prioritization, and finding and working with top talent.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Take care of your physical and emotional health first, then plunge into your business goals. People glorify overworking these days, and it's not productive. The magic of creativity and clarity comes when you take sufficient time to rest, reflect and pursue outside interests.
