Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Adrienne Rivera, Founder and CEO of Breath of Gold, located in Reno, NV, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am the founder of Breath of Gold — a breathwork business that connects you to the wealth and wisdom that lives within. We lead transformational, circular, connected breathwork journeys that help you to gain clarity, release trauma, come up with creative ideas, and release limiting beliefs. We are known for our breathwork facilitator program, which trains breathworkers to lead others in breathwork safely.

Tell us about yourself

Over five years ago, I found myself in a breathwork class that changed my entire life. I had no idea we could profoundly shift our state with our breath. I felt so much euphoria and pleasure from head to toe. My interest in breathwork was immediately captured, and I went to as many breathwork classes as possible. I was then inspired to share the power of breathwork with others and wanted to start leading breathwork. In my first five years of entrepreneurship, I lead with my coaching business while using breathwork to support my clients in getting deeper results. After five years, breathwork was the thing that I became most known for that people wanted more of from me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As the founder of a multiple 6-figure breathwork business, I am proudest of our breathwork facilitator program. We have had 100% customer satisfaction with the clients who graduated from the program. The certification includes teachings from various professionals such as doctors, paramedics, neuroscientists, therapists, and more. I am also the creator of The Breath of Gold Oracle Deck and The Breath of Gold Journal.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is delegating. Delegating requires planning ahead and having really clear communication with your team. It's a skill that definitely takes a lot of practice and trust in your team.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Focus and commit to the parts of the business that move the needle forward—sales, marketing, and customer success.
  2. Create time daily to both learn and implement what you learn. Do not get into the trap of non-action and only learning.
  3. Focus on making quality a priority. Make sure that what you create and produce is quality work in everything that you do.
