What's your business, and who are your customers?
Cactus Corn is a Craft Popcorn Company based in Phoenix, Arizona. Our customers tend to be sports fans and families visiting fun and exciting events and venues around town.
Tell us about yourself
I've been working to grow Cactus Corn for about ten years now. Out of college, I was an intern for a boutique financial planning firm and realized early on that a 9-5 office job was not for me.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Surviving Covid with an events-based business. We have pivoted and are now selling online and soon in retail. 2022 was our best year to date.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Having to fire someone who has become part of the family.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- You can't fail if you don't quit.
- Accountability is key.
- Simply ask. You'd be surprised just how willing successful people are to share knowledge if you truly show an interest and dedication to being better.
