Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Carrie Bliss, CEO of Carrie Bliss Movements, located in Chandler, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have the ultimate blessing of Illuminating Live Through the Yoga of Art & Blissful Living. Where Yoga & Art Unite! While being united in Yoga Profession with specialties in Meditation, Pranayama & the Arts, my customers range from professional athletes to professional moms. Students of all ages. I feel completely blessed to offer my services after 30 years as a Yoga Therapist & Art Educator.

Tell us about yourself

IT all started with owning an AVEDA Salon in 1990. led to finding the ONLY Yoga book I could find, "Sivananda's Guide to Beginner's Yoga." I devoured this book. I could NOT get enough... leading to ONE teacher in Phoenix to teaching AZ Cardinals, Columbus Crew, Eastern Michigan U, Ohio U. & even Taylor Swift. The mere fact that I wake up breathing is my motivation following my inversions, meditation, and reading. Then....it's on to music. Chanting, Singing & Writing Poetry. Later in the day, my creativity kicks in, where I will either create jewelry or art (digital & drawings/paintings), followed by a wonderful evening of either teaching or reading.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Serving others. It's just that SIMPLE.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Managing? oh, what a dreaded word. I don't want to "manage" people; however, if they're working for me, the desire is to showcase their talents by following my Mantra of Life, the Four Agreements, if you will. Professionalism required.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Start before you're ready completely. It takes time, so if you "mess up," it's all fine. You'll get your groove. Treat others as you want to be treated...imperative. Take the less-paying jobs to get where you KNOW you can Thrive. It's all worth the ugh of doing what you may not want to arrive where you want.
