Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nina Antinora, CEO of Change It Up, LLC., located in Encinitas, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I was inspired to create Change It Up® in 2015. My company is comprised of adult learning experts, creative thinkers & doers, mindset re-setters, and heart-centered subject matter experts. We're based in sunny San Diego, CA, with a national and global reach across leadership, HR, sales, training, PMO, and everything in between.
CIU evolved from my two decades of global consultancy experience with
fortune 100 & 500 companies spanning the world of pharma/biotech,
tech/software, financial, consumer goods, auto, entertainment, and the beauty industry. Our top priority is to help our clients show up each day as their best selves in order to bridge strategy, analytics, and process with emotional intelligence that’s rooted in workplace mindfulness.
Tell us about yourself
I’m a #1 Best Selling Author, CEO of Change It Up, LLC., and Founder of AGFS Foundation, Inc. During my time spent in my previous career as an executive producer for massive global events, strategic communication, and training programs, I realized a huge unmet need to help my clients break through silos, increase self-awareness, overcome limiting beliefs, re-frame change, and enhance internal team & cross-functional communication & engagement in order to improve customer relations, retention, and ROI. Outside of my corporate clients, I also have a passion for helping aspiring entrepreneurs launch and scale their businesses.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I’d say it’s not one big thing. Rather, a compilation of little things that create the trajectory of my work life. Wake up every day feeling inspired and motivated to help others smash through fear or limiting beliefs to align with their greater good in order to excel at work and in their personal lives.
Looking back, I’d say the hardest part of starting a new business was pushing through my fear or limiting beliefs I had in relation to leaving my previous career. I feel so grateful that I took that leap to pursue something that truly ignites my soul. And through my experience, I provide my clients with the same tools and strategies that I developed during my journey. It’s in those moments when my clients have that “aha” transformative mindset shift that I feel overjoyed with excitement for them and know I am exactly where I’m meant to be!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
As a small business owner, you are responsible for every aspect of your business on a macro level at the end of the day. I often wear many hats and am pulled in a few different directions. When I first started, it was hard to really have that work/life balance. However, I now have the proper systems and processes in place and set healthy boundaries to ensure I don’t take on too much and delegate to those trusted experts in my circle.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Identity how your services, products, or specialties solve an unmet need in a specific industry or demographic.
- Use your passion and purpose as the springboard for starting your company. Followed by a flexible plan to launch. Lock arms with experts in those areas that you aren’t too familiar with (or don't like doing yourself) but are required to start and run a successful business.
- Don’t allow self-limiting beliefs or other people’s fears (self-projections) to stop you from pursuing your goals.
