What's your business, and who are your customers?

I teach people about sustainability through food. The power of choosing the right foods to make the world better. My customers are those who want to have a positive impact on the world.

Tell us about yourself

I am obsessed with the idea that every single choice we make has the power to make the world either a better place or the worst place. We all have tons of power. We just need to know how to apply it for good. Choosing the right foods (local, sustainable agriculture) is a great place to start!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I've gotten the opportunity to speak at multiple sustainability conferences, and now I'm transferring those skills into video education through YouTube.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

You never know what to expect next. There is always the fear that all of it can go away. It's both terrifying and very exciting!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. I would say, "do it!" because the alternative is that you are going to walk somebody else's path.
  2. If you feel like you want to own your own time, then you must be willing to make mistakes and grow from them.
  3. Never stop learning. Become obsessed with the service or product you offer. Be the best!
