Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Cheryl Buckley, Owner of Cheryl Buckley Nutrition LLC, located in Charlotte, NC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Cheryl Buckley Nutrition LLC is a Holistic Nutrition program focusing on addressing the root cause of your health troubles rather than just masking your symptoms with medications. I help individuals overcome dysfunction in their bodies from a holistic approach. I look at your lifestyle, nutrition, symptoms, and imbalances in your body and create a personalized nutrition plan to help improve your overall well-being and get you on track to living your best life. I work with clients with GI issues, food allergies/sensitivities, auto-immune diseases, women's hormonal issues, and weight loss.

Tell us about yourself

My own health journey is what got me involved in the nutrition field. I was overweight and struggled with a healthy relationship with food as a child. Then as an adult, I struggled with migraines and fibromyalgia and was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease and hormonal imbalances that pushed me into early menopause. This led me to pursue my training in Holistic Nutrition, where I was taught how to get to the root cause of my issues and heal with food and lifestyle changes.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being able to help and watch clients/patients get back to feeling healthy and achieving their health goals.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a solo business owner, doing it all yourself can get hard. There will be times that you will need to invest in your business to free you up from doing multiple tasks so you can focus on growing your business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a business plan.
  2. Know who your customer is and how you can help them.
  3. Have multiple streams of income - tools, resources, and packages that appeal to your niche market.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

As long as you go into opening your business with the understanding that you will have highs and lows, and it's really how you weather the storm that will be a big driver in how successful your business will be.
