Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chris Marcano, an Online Business Coach, and Personal Brand Strategist, based in Boynton Beach, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Online Business Coaching. Our customers are Spanish-speaking coaches, course creators, and consultants that want to create and sell high-value, high-ticket, and transformational online programs to become digital CEOs.

Tell us about yourself

I have been doing business with physical products since 2011, focusing on sales. When 2020 came, I noticed many people in the online space needed help on how to bring their expertise online and be able to articulate their value in order to sell their services. I am motivated by showing others how I have been able to monetize my expertise online and help the Latin community increase their confidence in sales to be able to upgrade their lives, earn more money, and have more freedom with the options that money provides for them while they help others. It's a win-win.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to invest in other assets aside from my business, allows me to compound my money over time and not have to rely exclusively on my business for income and freedom. I am able to focus on helping people and overdeliver even in a recession or difficult times without having to stress as much as most business owners do because I was able to put my money to work for me.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Risk tolerance. At the end of the day, building a business involves many risks. This is why after I worked with physical products, I decided to go into the online space because the risk is significantly lower.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do your research and look to have a good market fit for your business. Being a visionary is not enough to make it. You need to provide people with solutions to what they want and need.
  2. Instead of partnering with people for the money they can bring into the business, use the bank for money, and if you choose to partner with others, partner with people that complement your skills.
  3. Get yourself good mentors that will help you see the big picture, see what's possible for you, and also help you overcome the obstacles that you will inevitably find on the way.
