Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brooke Schnittman, owner and founder of Coaching With Brooke, located in Boynton Beach, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Having ADHD can be HARD!

As an Adult with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) who coaches other adults and students with ADHD, Brooke understands the struggles that come along with being an individual with ADHD. Brooke’s team of specialized ADHD coaches helps determine students and adults with ADHD worldwide.

Tell us about yourself

Starting in 2006 with a Master's in Special Education from NYU, Brooke has worked with 1000s of individuals with ADHD. She has over 12 years of special education teaching and administration experience in the New York school system and over 20 years of leadership roles. She has been featured and spoken in ADDitude magazine, channel 5 news, International ADHD Conference, Chopra Global, and more.

Most recently, she is the co-host of an ADHD webisode series on YouTube called "ADHD Power Tools" and runs an annual free summit called "ADHD EdCamp" for adults with ADHD and parents of children with ADHD. Brooke is empowered on a daily basis to impact 1 million individuals with ADHD in a five-year span who meet with chaos, frustration, and shame by providing them the tools and accountability to lead a life of control, consistency, and confidence!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

So far, Coaching With Brooke has impacted over 250,000 individuals in the first four years of business.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a business owner with ADHD, it is hard not to want to incorporate new things into the business often. Brooke teaches her clients that it's important to set goals and stick with them. She now sets yearly and quarterly goals. Any bright and shiny new idea Brooke puts on a list of future opportunities and revisits it at the end of the quarter to see if it still excites her, has the potential to make an impact on individuals with ADHD, if it aligns with her core values, and if she has the time and resources to invest in this new idea.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do not compare yourself with other businesses. You never REALLY know what's going on with other businesses. Be inspired by them, but focus on your goals and core values as a person.
  2. Network! Whether virtually or in person, learn which people and businesses can help support yours and connect with them.
  3. Be a life-long learner! Read, listen to audiobooks, and podcasts, attend conferences, and be a mastermind. Stay fresh with your ideas and be innovative.
