Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lisa Wells, Founder of Coastal Wandering, located in Sea Island, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Coastal Wandering creates travel, food, and home content to help people who love the beach bring a little of the beach lifestyle to their everyday life.

Tell us about yourself

After spending years in a corporate job, I was looking for a change. I combined my love for travel, food, and photography to create a beach-inspired website. I truly enjoy what I do, and that's what motivates me every day.

Do you have daily rituals for work / wellness / fitness / mindfulness?

I do have a few rituals - I like to start the day in nature with a walk on a trail or on the beach. If I'm at the beach, I'll listen to the waves, but if I'm walking a trail, I'll listen to a podcast. I'll follow that up with some stretching and a cappuccino at home before starting work.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Creating a community of people whose hearts are at the beach.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being a solopreneur, everything is up to you. It's both the best and hardest part of being a business owner.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Choose something you love to do. That's what will keep you going during challenging times.
  2. Invest in learning the skills you need to succeed in running your business.
  3. Put the work in, and don't give up. Success doesn't happen overnight, but you get closer every day.
