What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a Food & Beverage Profit Consulting company that works with owners, general managers, and leaders in Restaurants, Hotels & Resorts, and long-term care facilities.
Tell us about yourself
The chance to switch my career into a consulting position, which is something I've always wanted to do, presented itself, and I have never looked back. The ability to collaborate with and support a wide range of individuals and organizations is what motivates me every day. The challenge of a new problem and circumstances is exciting and rewarding.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have worked with many wonderful clients, but I'd have to say that starting my own business was my biggest accomplishment. I now understand how much was at stake and how much I had learned as I reflect back on the time when I made the decision to start my business.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
There are a number of challenges that come with owning a business; the most difficult part is the transition from working with a team every day to working on your own. Interacting with clients is great, but it is like starting a new job with each engagement.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top three things that I would suggest for starting a new business are:
- Know who your customer is and learn how to effectively communicate with them to effectively sell.
- You are not alone; find a great coach, marketing person, etc.
- Be patient; it takes longer than you think to get started to build momentum.
