Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rachel Khona, Founder of Crimson and Clover Studio, located in Saint Petersburg, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Crimson and Clover Studio is a stationery and gift company. Our customers are primarily Millennial and Gen X women.

Tell us about yourself

I was working as a model agent at the time when I got the idea. My ex-boyfriend used to leave me cute sticky notes that would say things like, "I love you more than stars in the universe." I started leaving notes for him as well, like, "You make me want to shave my legs." I started compiling ideas for future notes on my phone. After he dumped me on a sticky note (yes, really), I took the ideas I had on my phone and turned them into cards.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Getting to seven figures.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

That you can never really be "off" like you can in a regular 9-5 job, the buck stops with you.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Do something you're passionate about so it doesn't feel like work, do the research and work--don't expect other people to figure it out for you.
