Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Elise Smith, Owner and CEO of Divinely Driven Results, located in Eagle Mountain, UT, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Christian Business Strategist and owner of Divinely Driven Results, a team of coaches who empower Ladypreneurs in service-based industries to reach their sales goals by partnering with God, empowering their mindset, and utilizing biblical business strategy.

Tell us about yourself

I started sales coaching in the corporate world about 14 years ago and had some great success, but I knew that I could empower those I work with even more if I could bring God into it since He is the source of all blessings. So I decided to get my CPC with the International Coaching Federation to take my coaching to the next level for my clients and ask God who He would have me serve. I have been an entrepreneur since I was a teen and have succeeded and failed at many different businesses. He impressed it upon my heart to focus on Christian Women Entrepreneurs so they don't give up on their goals and dreams like I was so close to doing so many times.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Creating a coaching brokerage with 8 coaches in my company to best serve our clients. I had to accept that I don't know and can't know it all and that we aren't meant to run our businesses alone, so God led me to create this brokerage, and our clients benefit so much from multiple experts to work with throughout the year-long program we have.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Trusting God or your higher power to provide the results we desire. We can influence our results, but we can never 100% control them, and that's where we have to have faith that what we are doing is going to lead us to what we want to have both for ourselves and our clients. I always say that as a Christian Ladypreneur, it takes more faith than you realize to grow your business. But it's a combination of action and faith that helps to accomplish the purposes God has for us.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You do deserve success, and God wants to and is ready and willing to bless you with success in His own perfect time.
  2. Always stay focused on prospecting and sales because if you let that pipeline dry up because you are focused on other things, you will most definitely regret it.
  3. Regular people feel their way to action, successful people act their way to a feeling. So even if you don't feel like doing the little monotonous tasks that it takes to run a successful business that day, just get started for 5 minutes, and the feeling oftentimes comes to keep you going.
