What's your business, and who are your customers?
Dr. Mitch Total Health is a medical practice specializing in functional and alternative medicine.
Tell us about yourself
I noticed the difference when I was in my internship, and I noticed people getting out of the hospital much faster. The difference, in my opinion, was 50,000 IV Vitamin C which I did not learn about in medical school, in fact, we had very little education in nutrition. I realized there was more to functional medicine than regular allopathic medicine could offer at the time. The way conventional medicine approached medicine then was, 'if this, then that,' which did not work for many of my patients. When I made the switch to include nutrition and mind-body work, I started having amazing results for my patients, whereupon I asked WHY and, in turn, attempted to correct their underlying biochemistry.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Helping patients that come to us from all over the world. Our referrals from other patients and from doctors are patients who have often failed by the conventional system. When we can help them, we are using the best that all disciplines of modern medicine have to offer.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The most difficult is making sure the daily operations are smooth and that people are serviced and taken care of as you would take care of your own mother.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- LOVE WHAT YOU DO! Wake up in the morning and WANT to go to work, LOVE going to work, and do what you need to do to enjoy going to work!
- Surround yourselves with those people who help you to complete your goals every day.
- Develop a comfortable, safe, and healthy working environment for people to come to work and for patients to avail themselves of your services.
