What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is a content strategy business. I provide technical, content, copy, and media writing, as well as other business services. Content is king, and I help businesses plan, create, and optimize their content. From writing website copy and media articles to creating social media posts, I can do it all. And because I have a background in both writing and business, I understand the importance of creating content that is not only engaging but also effective. My services don't stop there - I can also assist with media relations, notary, business planning, and more. Who am I to my customers? I am the Queen of content!

Tell us about yourself

I have always been a writer. And in college, writing was always my strong suit. After receiving my Master's and while in my Doctoral program, I began helping start-ups by helping to write their business plans or develop business strategies. At this time, I was not being paid and realized how much time I was spending helping others. In 2017, I decided to become a business providing technical writing and copywriting services (mostly business plans and blogs/articles). By 2019, I expanded other areas of writing services as opportunities came that became consistent service offerings.

I am motivated to tell others' stories or create content that is connected to them. As a writer that writes every day (including authoring many books), I find myself most passionate that I have a gift that I am able to give to others in this world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Right now, my biggest accomplishment in business is on October 1, 2022, being able to celebrate FIVE years in business and nearly two years as a full-time entrepreneur. I resigned from my full-time job on November 7, 2020, during the pandemic, and to be thriving has created an emotion that fills me with more faith than I can ever put into words. It has not been an easy five years, but they say the first five years are the hardest, and they were not kidding!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing as a business owner is staying true to the value of your worth. It can be easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind and lose sight of your worth out of fear of turning down money, but it is essential to remember that your business is only as valuable as you make it. All money is not good money! It can be difficult to stay true to the value you bring to the table in the face of constant change or desperation, but it is essential to remember that your worth is not static. As long as you are committed to adding value, your business will always remain relevant and valuable.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Never give up, and when things get hard, that is when you push through the hardships.
  2. Nothing and no one will ever be as ready as you are to commit to changing your life.
  3. Invest in yourself and your business. Shortcuts can cost you more in the end!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I am thankful for all of my clients that found value in my company. I have become a much stronger writer and self-advocate. I have built many partnerships and expanded my network by loving what I do and who I do it for. #grateful
