Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food service but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Giorgio Azzara, Owner of Eat With Giorgio, located in Stanwood, WA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Eat With Giorgio is a personal chef service that I provide to people mostly in the Puget Sound area. I work with the customer to create a multi-course menu for their special event - anniversaries, birthdays, work gatherings, small weddings - and then make the courses on-site from scratch. My courses are inspired by my Italian roots and use fresh, local ingredients as well as imported Italian ingredients.

Tell us about yourself

Growing up in Palermo, Sicily, I always had fresh, local, made-from-scratch foods. After moving to the United States in 2015, I found it difficult to find true Italian meals with the most flavorful ingredients. Recreating these dishes I grew up on made me feel more at home, and it became my passion to want others to experience them as well. I love sharing my culture and inspiring happiness and togetherness through my food.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment through Eat With Giorgio has been bringing authentic Italian experiences directly to the dinner tables of my customers.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The paperwork side of being a business owner is not nearly as fun as interacting with my clients.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today should definitely do all the background research regarding licensing and taxes, stay very organized right from the beginning, and make sure the business is something you are passionate about.
