Executive Coaching to Create Hope-Driven Cultures - Libby Gill

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Libby Gill, Executive Coach at Libby Gill & Co Coaching and Consulting, located in Oregon.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I coach emerging and established leaders to create hope-driven cultures with high-performing teams.

Tell us about yourself

I started my career in corporate entertainment, heading communications at Sony, Universal, and Turner Broadcasting. In my early 40s, I decided to go out on my own as an executive coach working with business owners and executives. I love seeing people grow and develop their careers.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I left a great corporate job to launch my own coaching and consulting firm, wrote six books, and speak on three continents and 39 states.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You often feel as though you're out there on your own, making it up as you go along.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your passions - if you aren't passionate about your business, it's probably not worth doing.
  2. Identify your skills and strengths to determine your highest value.
  3. Find out what the marketplace wants from you. If you're passionate about something that no one wants or needs, you've got a hobby and not a business.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Feed yourself with a positive, hope-filled vision of the future. Set the bar high and keep raising as you go along.
