What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a mobile fitness platform that provides convenient fitness in 5 minutes a day. Our core customers are stay-at-home moms, busy professionals, and seniors with physical limitations who don't have the time, interest, or ability to pursue other forms of fitness.

Tell us about yourself

I am a medical doctor who has specialized in thyroid and metabolism for over 30 years. I've identified a metabolism disorder and its treatment and have taught doctors internationally about my protocols. Obesity is a growing epidemic, so I focused on coming up with a solution based on the science of metabolism. Fastercise is the product of my research. My daughter Allison was the first guinea pig of Fastercise. She entered a body-building competition just eight months after having her first baby, using only Fastercise to prepare.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping people change their lives when nothing else has worked for them.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The many hats that one has to wear. There are so many facets of business that have to be considered. Finding product market fit, finding what customers actually want and are willing to pay for, product development, finding partners, accounting, legal, intellectual property, and so on.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find out what customers want and how much they are willing to pay for it.
  2. If you can, take a course on launching a start-up.
  3. Give up some of your equity to get advisors on your team that have experience in the industry you want to serve and
