What's your business, and who are your customers?
Fine Living Gifts is a small, female-owned full-service gifting company featuring a curated collection of unique gifts with sleek designs and premium quality products for every occasion.
Tell us about yourself
I have always been very creative, and I started FLG over 30 years ago, launching the website in 2017. I love the challenge of putting together unique and memorable gifts for my clients, small and large.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I founded Fine Living Gifts with a mission to give back. As a small business owner, my focus has been to collaborate with other small, female-owned, and black-owned businesses and to feature their products in our gift sets. I have also partnered with BisousForLeo.org, to which I have pledged to donate 10% of the profits. BisousForLeo.org is a foundation that seeks to find a cure for INAD, an incredibly rare genetic disorder found in children.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the biggest challenges is trying not to micromanage. But because my company is very service oriented, I find I need to attend to every detail, so the client is 100% satisfied with the end result.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
It is important to be passionate about what you do and not be afraid to take risks and grow.
