#GoSoloStories: Flair Media and Video

Hey, I'm Holly Hunter and I'm the cofounder at Flair Media and Video.

Tell us all about your business...

Our goal is to transform our clients businesses for the better through the use of video content. Our videos are designed to capture and maintain the viewers attention, through the use of aesthetic visuals and engaging, informative content. We work closely with our clients to create the most productive content that appeals to their target audience allowing them to stand out from your competitors.

What's your background and motivation to get into the solopreneur life?

As a keen golfer I started off working at my local golf club, where I soon noticed a severe lack of online presence. From there I started creating fun engaging video content with the staff and golf professionals at the club that were posted on their social media. The videos had such a positive response from the members and created such a buzz, I soon realised how I could turn my hobby into a career as there was such a huge demand out there.

As a business owner, what does success ultimately mean to you?

In life I feel it is so important to put yourself first and not get caught up in unnecessary stress. Natural growth is important and I feel it is paramount not to put too much pressure on yourself. You get out what you put in and I believe having positive attitude plays a key roll in the journey to success.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Owning your own business is incredible as it provides you to work flexible hours and I enjoy the variation. However it can sometimes be hard to keep yourself accountable. That's why it is great having a business partner to work alongside as we can check in on each other.

What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a business today?

1) As long as you're passionate about what you do, you will never feel like you're working.
2) Take risks, you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the things you did.
3) Take advice, try and be a sponge when it comes to business and soak up any tips and advice that may come your way.

If there was one thing you could do repeatedly to help grow your business, what would it be?

Follow up - Call to action.

What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance and to keep it all together?

Set hours are important and essential to have a work life balance. Finding time to spend socially outside of work is key in order to have some time to switch off and reset your brain so it's fresh and ready for the next working day.
