Inspire Your Team - Great Results Teambuilding

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sean Glaze, founder of Great Results Teambuilding, located in Atlanta, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help leaders build and sustain more positive and profitable workplace cultures. My engaging conference keynotes and interactive team-building events equip managers to become effective leaders. As a successful coach and educator for over 20 years, I gained valuable insights into developing winning teams - and founded Great Results Teambuilding to share those lessons.

My four books, The Unexpected Leader, Rapid Teamwork, The 10 Commandments of Winning Teammates, and Staying Coachable, are entertaining parables with powerful takeaways for team growth and leadership!

Tell us about yourself

Is your team underachieving? I know the feeling. Transforming teams by building a more positive and profitable team culture is what I do.

After taking over a basketball program that had won only three games in two years, my focus on culture led the program to the most wins in school history. My team jumped from 5 wins to 19 wins in their second season at another school. And at a third coaching stop, my team finished with a 12-0 undefeated sub-region record after losing the region player of the year to a knee injury only a week before the season began!

My experiences in locker rooms and classrooms provide many of the lessons I share in conference rooms – to help groups just like yours improve team performance with corporate team building events and motivational teamwork keynotes.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Many powerful lessons that will impact your group comes from my two decades of creating stronger cultures in locker rooms. I am an energetic team-building speaker and facilitator who helps organizations improve their results by translating the lessons I learned, leading teams to tremendous turnarounds – and that same focus on team cohesiveness and leadership development will transform your culture.

I maintain a membership with the Association of Experiential Education and the Southeast Association of Facilitators, and as director of programs for the Georgia chapter of the National Speakers Association, I was chosen as the 2015 Member of the Year!

I earned my bachelor's degree in English at Georgia Southern University and then added Masters and Specialist Degrees from Jacksonville State University. As the author of The Unexpected Leader, Rapid Teamwork, The 10 Commandments of Winning Teammates, and Staying Coachable, I am committed to helping organizations develop teams and their leaders so they can become more positive, productive, and profitable.

I am an entertaining speaker and team-building facilitator who inspires your people to be better teammates and build a more positive and profitable team culture!

When I'm not on stage as a conference speaker or inspiring laughter as a team-building facilitator, I enjoy being home in Atlanta with my wife Amy and my very lazy dog.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

We all want to work with Winning Teammates. But we all have patterns, and we often cling to them out of habit, even when they are unproductive, even sometimes when they make life harder for those around us.
Breaking those old routines and tendencies requires people to be coachable.

I'm an engaging catalyst that connects us to others and inspires us to change our habits. Changed behaviors are the result of improved awareness and attitudes… and when perceptions and an understanding of what is possible are altered, people want to change their behaviors to experience better results.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Connect your people to two things - a compelling common goal and each other.
  2. Develop and equip yourself and your leadership team to be more aware of team challenges.
  3. Invest in building and sustaining a positive and profitable workplace culture!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

For years, managers have focused their efforts on building a more efficient business model or corporate strategy, but those X’s and O’s, or your Employee Handbook, mean very little to your people until they experience something that inspires their buy-in.

Team cohesiveness results from connecting people to a shared goal and each other. The truth that all leaders eventually recognize is that efficiency is not effective when it comes to people skills. The soft stuff is always the hard stuff.

Culture trumps strategy because if people aren’t communicating or engaged in their work, productivity will suffer no matter how effective your mission statement or alignment might be. The engaging nature of experiential learning and team-building activities improves teamwork because they establish connections and create a shared sense of purpose while also strengthening relationships. My fun team-building events and motivational keynotes improve group performance with EXPERIENCES that provide GREAT RESULTS.
