What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Professional Speaker and business book author. My clients are public and private sector organizations, including associations. I help organizations increase productivity by engaging and energizing employees to be and do their best while helping the company reach its goals.
Tell us about yourself
I helped Ken Blanchard, and Spencer Johnson publish The One Minute Manager. I then went on to manage Ken's publishing and speaking career. That led to an opportunity to coauthor and publish my first book. FISH! A Proven Way to Boost Morale and Improve Results. I have since coauthored another six books, with eight in the works. What continues to motivate me is making a positive impact on people's personal and professional lives. And helping them, in turn, make a positive impact on others.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Selling over eight million books and delivering hundreds and hundreds of presentations around the world.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Constantly looking for opportunities to help people.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Understand there are no bad opportunities, only ones that are either good for you or not.
- Your job is to make your clients look good.
- As a professional speaker, knowing that I am here for the audience's benefit.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Anyone can become successful. Be positive and never give up. Don't let anyone tell you you can't do something. I became one of the best-selling business authors of all time at the age of fifty.
