What's your business, and who are your customers?

Since 2017, I have been inspiring women dealing with health challenges to take ownership of their health and navigate life whole-istically. Giving them the clarity, confidence, and validation to make the right decisions, as well as live the life of their dreams. It is my mission to educate on the many different aspects of our healing as well as help women that are ready to live their best life access the toolkit to just that. The goal is to keep doing the things you love; maybe it's in a different way or adapted to your ability. Having a chronic illness doesn't have to stop you.

Tell us about yourself

I have been living with Multiple Sclerosis since I was a teenager for over three decades now. At around 20 years into life with this unpredictable chronic illness, I decided I was tired of feeling awful day after day and made the decision to take charge of my life and health. After a lot of reading and researching, I looked for a program/coach who was where I wanted to be. There were plenty of kinds of empathetic coaches, but no one understood life with a chronic illness. I created my business around everything I looked for, yet I could not find it for myself.

As someone who understands the full depth and range of emotions that correlate to being diagnosed with a life-altering illness, I decided to be the mirror for others in living this unpredictable life. To show them what is possible and accompany them on their journey. I love watching the transformations in the women I work with. This is what motivates me every day: knowing just by sharing what I have learned and experienced, many lives are improving each and every day!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner came last year when my co-author project Fired Up! became an international #1 bestseller and spent four weeks as the #1 Multiple Sclerosis Book. This resulted in my becoming a Nationally Syndicated Columnist for the Price of the Business digital network. My lifestyle-based articles are created to show it's ok to be open-minded, aligned with your decision, listen to what is on your heart, and view life from a 30,000-foot overview. The archive can be found at this link. I love seeing women uplevel their life, creating a massive ripple effect in their world as well as the world around them.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is being true to yourself. It's listening to your heart instead of the opinions of those around you. It's remembering to take care of yourself and have creative moments with yourself. We may think it's a waste of time, but when we allow ourselves to be open, that's when the creativity flows in. When was the last time you did something fun that your five-year-old self would have done? Try it; you will be amazed at the feelings fun brings in!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Listen more than you speak.
  2. Speak kindly to yourself. What the mind perceives, it believes.
  3. Success loves action.
