Better Clients • Interesting Work • Higher Profits - Hypernova

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Thomas Joos, CEO of Hypernova, located in Sint Niklaas, Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I coach agency founders toward better clients, more exciting work & higher profits.

Tell us about yourself

I spent a decade building an award-winning design agency and helped 150+ companies innovate and bring new products to market.

In 2016 I felt exhausted, cashed out, and took a long break. In 2017 I started coaching & helping other agency founders to move faster without making all the rookie mistakes I've made.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I learned how to work smart and make good money without becoming a slave to my company & clients.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

No one is going to do it for you. Building a business is a rollercoaster ride where you have to take full ownership and continuously learn from your mistakes. It's never business as usual!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Focus on a specific problem that you want to solve.
  2. Stay humble and never stop improving things.
  3. Monitor your profits monthly (cash is king).
