Language of the Body - In Her It Blooms

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Regina Pritchett, Founder of In Her It Blooms, located in Virginia Beach, VA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help women learn the language of their bodies so they can be protagonists in their own healing journeys using plant medicine, ritual, and reverence. In Her It Blooms is my ode & offering to support the body-mind-spirit complex of the warrior-woman, the seekers, those determined to live life on purpose & those who came here to play & have pleasure on behalf of all the woman before them who were denied that right.

Tell us about yourself

I started working on my business after spending a year in India.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is twofold. I feel really proud that I have created a business that is a vehicle for me to authentically and continually find my voice and clarify who I am showing up as in the world.

This business clarifies my contribution to the world. My biggest accomplishment, though, is seeing the women that I work with get pregnant, get their energy back, heal their guts and enjoy food again, and learn how to be their own healers.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Being a solopreneur means learning a lot of things that you never intended to learn--marketing, sales, accounting, etc. It also means spending significant time on these things.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't be afraid to collaborate. I'm looking to partner more now because we really can do more together.
  2. Just get started. No matter how much you think you know, you will learn the reality of it after you get started. I think people of color often have the burden of feeling like they have to do more to be considered legitimate, while we watch other folks have confidence that seems to come out of nowhere AND get ahead. I want to just say channel that energy by pushing yourself to just get started. Education comes out of the work. You will learn what you need to know by doing.
  3. Don't be afraid to pay for mentorship or support. You also don't have to make it up on your own. Take the class. Pay for the consultation. It can save you time and move you further along.
