What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the owner of Integrative Skin Center. My mission is to enhance inner beauty and confidence while providing individualized services. My customers are teenagers, women, men, basically, anyone who is concerned about and wants to maintain the health of their skin.
Tell us about yourself
I began my career as a dental assistant, serving patients during cosmetic dental procedures and oral surgery. I had a natural connection with my patients and helped guide them through complex procedures. During this time, I became interested in skin health and transitioned to working in dermatology as a licensed medical esthetician. Through my work, I became more knowledgeable about the connection between the mind and body. I embraced the practice of how nutrition and supplements impact the skin, gut, and microbiome.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Helping individuals feel better and more confident by helping them obtain healthy, glowing skin. It's not about looking a certain way but about how you feel about yourself and face the world.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing is time management with the back-end part of business, like hiring people to help you manage the business that you trust.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make sure your services cover your overhead. If not, you're not going to make it.
- Make sure you have enough to cover yourself in the first year.
- Put your heart and soul into your business. People will sense that.
