Discover Your Greatest Self - Jasmine Hollywood

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jasmine Hollywood, President of True Paleo, Inc.'s Discover Your Greatest Self, located in Tampa, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

True Paleo, Inc.'s Discover Your Greatest Self is a 501(c)(3) company. It's an evidenced-based Paleo nutrition, faith-based spiritual wellbeing non-profit organization that offers affordable or probono-licensed dietetic and nutritional services to individuals who experience trauma and extremely stressful events and are diagnosed with autoimmune, endocrine diseases, and mental health illnesses.

Tell us about yourself

I am a licensed dietitian, nutritionist, nationally board-certified nutrition specialist, certified peer recovery specialist, ordained minister, and founder of True Paleo Inc.'s Discover Your Greatest Self. I live a Paleolithic lifestyle and use my dietary expertise, authorship, and motivational speaking skills to encourage individuals with lived trauma to make better lifestyle choices.

I'm a PEER! I've literally suffered from autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) for over twenty (20) years. During this time, I've also acquired several mental health conditions, including C-PTSD, OCPD, and periodic episodes of localized dissociative amnesia due to my past traumas. As a teen, I also developed SUD.

What prompted me to start Discover Your Greatest Self is that many people struggle with similar health challenges, their interventions don't work, and their practitioners neglect to add body-mind-spirit principles. My personal story motivates me every day to do what I do!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is finding God! The choices I've made to repair my life would be meaningless without knowing there's something greater than me out there. Nevertheless, a great team of people to support me follows. I am so grateful for the community of people I surrounded myself with. Without their help and encouragement, I would not be where I am today.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Branding and image are the most difficult things that come with being a business owner.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find a support system.
  2. Stick to your story.
  3. Ensure you are branded in the community.
