Helping Busy People Reclaim Their Health - Jennifer Tardy

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and nutrition but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jennifer Tardy, owner of Eating for Healing Nutrition and Wellness, located in Lexington, SC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

At Eating for Healing Nutrition and Wellness, I provide Nutrition services to people that want to improve their nutrition and health. My clients are those who have chronic or active illnesses and also those that want to improve nutrition to boost immunity and continue to stay healthy. I also see people who have digestive, hormone, and autoimmune issues or those that want to lose weight. I am also able to make nutrition and exercise programs based on the client's genes!

Tell us about yourself

I've been in the health and wellness industry off and on since 1994. In 2014 I returned to it full-time when my family had chronic and active health conditions. I went back to school and became a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, and through my research and education, my family was able to reduce or reverse their conditions. This is what motivates me every day, the power that healthy food has when it comes to our health!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment was building my business on my own while working to help my spouse with his business. I started with one client, and since then, it has grown organically!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing by far is marketing and technology, having the time to not only learn it but also have the time to do it!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The 3 top tips I would give someone is to start messy! It doesn't have to be perfect in order for you to start because you are going to keep tweaking it anyway as you go along and continue to learn and grow! Don't be afraid to do it! Just do it, and if something doesn't work right, try again! Lastly, do your research, learn from others, read books, watch webinars, join groups, and learn from everyone who has done it!
