What's your business, and who are your customers?

No matter what your profession, no matter what your side gig or business is, it's important to remember that you are the CEO of your life and how you show up for your life is important. Alignment Is The New Hustle (AITNH) serves to help CEOs worldwide remember this. We are a personal development and strategy brand helping creatives and CEOs share their message with the world in a way that helps them get seen and get paid for it. Using our 3S and 3T method, we provide coaching and resources to assist entrepreneurs in creating structure, systems, and sales for their business by helping them build a trustworthy brand. When they learn how to avoid shiny object syndrome utilizing our mindset practices to encourage focus and flow. This allows them to communicate their message with clarity and confidence. Results are measured through traffic, touchpoints, and transactions. Entrepreneurs can enroll in our e-courses, month-to-month memberships, work with me 1:1, or hire my team and me to work alongside their companies with done-for-you brand marketing.

Tell us about yourself

Being born in Kingston, Jamaica, gave me a real sense of gratitude when I moved to America at the age of 6. Little did I know that all the bullying, poverty, depression, and low self-esteem were preparing me for something greater. In high school, I was bullied and lost my confidence. I remember waking up and dreading going to school. Ugh, can you imagine being back in high school right now? I can't! It wasn't until I found my love of fashion that I had more confidence to get up and show up. Before that, I hid every part of who I was, so much so that I lost myself, looked for happiness in my relationships, and felt empty when they didn't work out. This is a lesson everyone can learn from; no one is responsible for your own happiness except for you.

Fast forward to 2014, I was hustling, trying to build my brand and make a name for myself; it felt like nothing worked until 2017. That's when I changed my mindset and changed my life. I found my voice and packaged my knowledge of content creation, tech, online tools, marketing, and branding. Today I teach CEOs and creatives how to create visibility for their brand so they can scale their business. I'm all about impact and income. As a business coach and brand manager for entrepreneurs today, I'll never forget that I was my first client. My coaching is based on three principles, clarity, confidence, and cash flow. I taught myself how to find alignment between these three things, and I know you can too.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Learning to master my moods and emotions has by far been my biggest flex. Being the ultimate student of my craft and seeing just how much the quality of my life and business improved when I implemented the very mindset and business strategy that I teach.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Uncertainty will always be something that creates some level of doubt in the minds of entrepreneurs; while I'm no different, I've learned the importance of "Let go and let God." Creating that intuitive connection can be challenging, but the journey gets a lot easier when we learn to use discernment to evaluate the situation and wisdom to know what's best for us.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't get bitter, get better: Once I made a goal to get better and stopped getting bitter when I felt overlooked, used, or cheated, I always ended up winning. By changing my mindset around this, I know for certain that I can also change my future. Change isn't something that just happens overnight. When we change our thoughts, we can change our actions from there; we can change our circumstances and, in turn, change our whole reality, which makes life better overall.
  2. Invest in your brain: We don't know what we don't know. And while I'm a huge fan of manifestation and the Law of Attraction, we can't just sit around and manifest a better future all day. It's easy to come up with an idea, but many of us get stuck when we don't know what steps to take to make it happen. The Law of Action is also a major factor, and we have to be the driving force that implements the idea. That force could look like seeking support, investing time to learn or read, or investing funds to pay for someone else's time to help you learn.
  3. Keep shining your light: Don't dim it for anyone or anything ever. Your light will attract the right people to you and blind the wrong ones.
