Move Pain Free | A Better Quality of Life - Kineon Labs

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Forrest Smith, CEO and Co-Founder of Kineon Labs, located in Atlanta, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Laser therapy and FDA-listed neuro-muscular pain and inflammation therapy device offers an alternative to pharmaceuticals.

Tell us about yourself

I'd built and exited startups before and came to a point in life where I'd like to focus more on the mission and impact than the commercial success. As a company, our mission is to improve the quality of life in the most substantial way we can for the largest number of people we can. Pain and inflammation, particularly chronic pain, have a huge negative impact on the quality of life of so many people the only options they have are surgical or pharmaceutical. Every day I get new messages from people feeling the benefits of the Move+ device for them or their loved ones, and the changes we've made there provide an incredible amount of motivation. Our community is so supportive, and the stories we hear about the life changes make the difference between a job and a crusade!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to help people who really need it and provide them with a tool that empowers an understanding that they don't have to live with pain and can take steps to regain movement, activity, and hope.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Prioritization and patience. You only have so much time, regardless of how much you can work, and having to say no to worthwhile endeavors to focus that time and effort is difficult. And EVERYTHING takes more time than you want. So either learn patience or go crazy!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You will have low days for motivation, and money isn't enough. Find something that you'd walk through fire for.
  2. Take the time to set your 'north star' of ethos and values early in your business. This will be something that you can refer to with difficult decisions, and that will draw the right people to you as well.
  3. Think systemically! It's so easy to be caught in the day-to-day that your place in a larger system can get lost sometimes.
