What's your business, and who are your customers?

Kissed Foods makes clean, fresh salad dressings in small kettle batches with carefully sourced local ingredients. Our discerning customers want the convenience of a yummy prepared dressing with quality homemade.

Tell us about yourself

We started making our Balsamic Paprika dressing a few years ago... it was a dressing I had made for years for my daughter, who would not eat a salad with any other dressing... We decided we wanted to make the dressing exactly as we did at home... no added preservatives or boiling, no taste enhancers or syrups. It is our clean, fresh ingredients that give our dressings their big, bold taste.

What motivated me every day? I love food, I love learning, and I love meeting new people. Kissed is all about delicious food, new ideas, and people... our customers, suppliers, mentors, and consultants... such a great community.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a business owner, you learn to juggle many different roles and jobs. I have learned so much about each part of the business and really appreciate how they are all so interconnected.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a business owner, you are never fully disconnected from your work.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Research your market.
  2. Start slowly.
  3. Do lots of marketing.
