What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own a professional organizing company, Life in Jeneral as well as a custom cabinetry line, LIJ Spaces. I teach people to marry organization, function, and aesthetics so they can live a more joyful life. Our customers are anyone from celebrities to athletes and entertainers to bachelors and bachelorettes to military families to everyday people needing and wanting to get and stay organized.
Tell us about yourself
I have always loved organizing and creating systems. I started out as a celebrity executive assistant, where I mastered the art of to-do lists, time management, and efficient systems. In the process, I realized that organizing truly was about transforming lives for the better. People motivate me and the happiness they have after a project is done. To see a space transform before my eyes and then watch each person's life transform is truly priceless.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I feel so blessed to have an amazing team, and client's around me! I have helped thousands of people in their homes, and as of a year ago, I am a published author!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Can I say everything? LOL. I think for me, it has been the management of everyone as well as the business side. I was meant to create and help people, not run payroll :)
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Give yourself grace, know it's a marathon, not a sprint, and you can NEVER stop learning and growing.
