Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Haley Day, co-founder of Lifestyle Practice Builders, located in Leawood, KS, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Since 2016, my husband and I have been creating podcast episodes to help inspire new chiropractors to learn more about starting and operating a successful chiropractic practice.

Tell us about yourself

We realized that after starting and operating our own chiropractic practices for several years that we had a unique approach to chiropractic practice management. We were able to build a strong business during a down economy and keep it healthy even while moving 600 miles away to buy and operate another practice. We knew the systems we had created to maintain low overhead and maximize time with our family could benefit others looking to build successful practices while at the same enjoying a healthy work-life balance.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to operate a Chiropractic practice from 600 miles away while having babies was a huge accomplishment. I couldn't have done it without the systems we had created or the team we put together.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

There are a lot of unknowns when it comes to starting and building a business, so it's important to stay motivated, utilize resources, and take advantage of opportunities, especially in the beginning. Putting your best effort forward allows you to give your business its best chance at becoming viable.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Communication is an important skill; always be working on it. Look for mentors to help guide you. They will save you time, money, and lots of heartaches. Be true to your values, and keep it simple.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Creating a business is about learning from mistakes. You have to start making mistakes to learn how to be successful. So, don't be afraid to put yourself out there, learn, and grow. The magic is in creating your business over time and watching it evolve.
