Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in fitness and health but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lola Burnett, President and Owner of Lola Nez, located in Estero, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I provide guidance for those looking to transform not only their physique but also their lifestyle and achieve a new level of fitness and health. I am happy to work with anyone who is motivated to change. It does not matter if they are a beginner or someone looking to compete as a bodybuilder.

Tell us about yourself

I am a 52-year-old grandmother who entered the world of fitness and bodybuilding at age 44. My journey began when I was suffering from a medical condition and knew that I needed to make a significant lifestyle change. I went through a personal transformation that ultimately led to me becoming a successful bodybuilder and fitness model. I have now taken my experience and knowledge and used it to help others navigate their way to their own transformation. I find great motivation, and my passion is also in seeing not only the positive physical changes but growth in confidence and mental disposition.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Each client is a separate journey, and I find satisfaction and joy in each one. My greatest accomplishments, though, come from seeing other mothers and grandmothers find their "groove" and again feel confident, sexy, and empowered.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

There are no days off, and there is no one to fall back upon if something goes awry.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

First, select a business in which you have a definitive edge, skill, and experience and for which there is a well-known need. Second, make sure you have the financial resources to survive for an extended period of time if things don't go as planned. Finally, stay focused on your core product/service, so you don't get too fragmented and risk veering off course.
