What's your business, and who are your customers?

As the CEO of LMA Diverse Solutions, a Hospitality Career Development, and Consulting Company. LMA Diverse Solutions empowers women of color to achieve their professional goals. Tell us about yourself

I grew up in the US Virgin Islands and moved to the United States to positively impact the world. I have over two decades as an Executive in hospitality, where I led teams to coordinate Democratic and Republican caucuses, international project management, and new construction Hotel projects worth half a billion dollars. As the first Afro-Caribbean female to Lead a Luxury Lifestyle Hotel, I had the opportunity to partner with different management companies. After securing the number one restaurant and hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, and number 19 in the Nation, she embarked on a new journey as the Founder & CEO of LMA Diverse Solutions, A Hospitality Career Development, and Consulting Firm. What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As I continue to grow in my profession, I can connect with women of color and assist them with career advancement.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One challenge you have to be cognizant of is that no one is coming to push you when you lack motivation. Be organized and learn to delegate areas you aren't good at because of time constraints.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Three Tips for future entrepreneurs:

  1. Find a white space.
  2. Research the market you want to penetrate.
  3. Do what you love!
