What's your business, and who are your customers?

MacRAE'S is a digital marketing company that partners with its clients, working with them directly to provide them with the best service possible. We see ourselves as an extension of our client's business. We are not just a digital marketing company; we are a company that cares about the needs of our clients and provides unique strategies to help them meet their goals.

Tell us about yourself

I began my career in digital marketing as a way to help other businesses grow. In the last 20 years, we at MacRAE'S have helped tens of thousands of businesses achieve their digital marketing goals. As an entrepreneur, my mission has always been to connect businesses with strategies that build partnerships and promote customized solutions. MacRAE'S being a leading Canadian digital marketing agency helped me see my dream come true while creating specialized solutions that fit our client's needs. I believe in consistently growing and learning; while I am a graduate of the Ivey School of Business with an MBA, I am currently enrolled in the annual YPO President's program at the Harvard Business School.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is to create an environment where my staff and clients are happy and feel free to have an open dialogue with me. I believe it is important to have my staff feel comfortable and have the confidence to make decisions while having our clients feel free to reach out to us at any time.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is the challenge of keeping up with the ever-changing digital world. There are always changes and advancements that are happening at any given time. The key is to employ experts who are confident and help your clients navigate these while helping your business grow.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
