Tell us about yourself

I started my journey in 2018 when I decided to go back to school at the University of Toronto to get my certification in Mindfulness Studies. I decided to continue my journey of wellness. I embarked on the path to becoming a certified Hatha, Restorative, and Kids Yoga Instructor. My business flourished in a virtual world during COVID. We all needed a safe space to focus on our mental and physical health.

I was then motivated to write my book that had been quietly writing itself in the background of my everyday life. The story of losing my first husband at the age of 35, 4 months after becoming first-time parents.
I am motivated by being a person of service and providing a safe space to help others find a sense of peace and calm.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is publishing my first book. A book of inspiration and personal growth. The messaging in my book and my health and wellness business are beautifully aligned. And the book even has a soundtrack on Spotify of the music that helped propel me forward from a place of darkness to a life full of light.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things for me as a business owner is finding the time to do it all and do it right. But I chunk away at it every moment I can as it is my future life as an entrepreneur.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Create a business around what you are passionate about. It won't feel like work; it will feel like home.
  2. Don't be hard on yourself if a door doesn't open, the next one will, and so on. If it opens a crack, then pursue it until it's wide open.
  3. Use all your resources to promote and grow your product. Social media accounts, people you know, and the people that you have met on this journey called life.
